I like the learnings section idea. While you don't need to follow the STAR or CARL methods strictly, understanding them can significantly improve your storytelling skills.

Agreed. We learn rules to understand the principles, then we choose to the break them when they need breaking.

I tried to follow this format during my recent behavioral rounds at meta. 2 minutes in the interviewer interrupted me saying "I want situation task action result". Guess few formats won't go away.

How did they know you were using CARL? Did you say that you were or use the names of the sections?

I meant that I started off with "let me give you some context around this" and then they said "no please provide situation task action result".

lol. Probably a poorly trained junior interviewer unless Meta has moved to a structured STAR format for interview feedback beyond their existing structured signal areas. I believe Amazon may force interviewers to input feedback in a STAR format, which is hilariously bad to me.

I would still provide the Learnings at the end in cases like this.
